Overview

About the mosque

Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque is one of the Aramco residential neighbourhood mosques that was built in 1986. The design features a rectangular mosque covered by a flat roof and punctuated by a shallow dome. Nine small, pyramidal skylights are arranged in a diamond layout over the western section. The semi-circular "mihrab" projects out on the "qibla" wall. The square, free-standing minaret, at the north-west of the main structure, displays a corner treatment of decorative stained glass. It is a modern architectural and engineering masterpiece that blends tradition and modernity, and is distinguished by the inscription of the names of Allah throughout it, the stained and interlaced glass with Islamic decorations and engravings, and the marble that covers the entire mosque.
